so peaceful...everyone leaves the computer cluster late at night. So quiet. Just me, 20 sparcs, and a couple of security cameras. Ahhhh...bliss.

ummm...background noise? :) I'm just using the one.

But if I wanted to, I could cross spawn processes. No one would be around to care. Bwahahahaha. (note: this is temporally localized to the time of the original post...right now all of the machines appear to be occupied.)

Re: sparcs

Well, it was a similar kind of show, actually, and I flatter myself there were parts that were even pretty damn funny. It seems unlikely, however, that you were present. :) (I say 'flatter myself', as I was one of the principle writers for the script...Much of the humor was in the music, on which I had minimal creative input. I just sang what they told me to...)

As to the shirt, thanks. :) The vest (to which I assume you primarily refer) is made of styrofoam. Yay for styrofoam garments! :)

That'll do :) That's a snappy looking vest :) Are you in a comedy troop or something?

Well, I was in fleetstreet, but then I gradutated. [warning: that web page is modestly well maintained at best this year...]

Fleetstreet is an a capella group with a focus on entertaining people (i.e. sketch comedy, riotous parody, high-quality music, both original and arranged, etc...) In that particular show we did a complete, down to the milisecond rendition of the first minute of Super Mario Bros. (I was the mushroom in the first set of blocks and the pause sign.) We also sang "The Mask of the Red Death" by Edgar Allen Poe as a lullabuy, did a satanic rendition of Zippidee-Doo-Da, presented several minutes of meticulously scripted and edited original videos, created a living target gallery so that our audience could pelt us with thirty or so beach balls, performed a beautiful (no, really) rendition of Georgia arranged in eight part jazz harmony...blah, blah, blah. I miss it a lot. It was basically a fraternity where all the members happened to sing a lot. :) I was the 127th member.

Now I bet THAT was more answer than you expected. :)

You did a parody of the first minute of Super Mario Brothers? That's so cool!

Re: sparcs

Not a parody, boy, a true to form reproduction. We used the original music and sound effects as generated by a SMB master playing at normal speed, and then recreated the game in a note perfect fashion. We spliced into the middle of the pause, though, and Mario came out of the game to kick the shit out of the kid who was playing because he kept letting mario get his ass kicked and then blaming the game. Other than that it was not a parody. :)

Re: sparcs

It sure seemed pretty damn cool at the time, yeah. There IS a video, but my fucking group members are too lazy to digitize it and put it on line. Fucking wankers. Kind of a sore point, actually. :) I'd REALLY like to have a copy. Digital or not. Also the videos we put together for use in the show are (and always have been) around in a digital form, but again, the guys are too busy doing other things. Wankers. The lot of them.

'tis me, verily. Anonymity chaps my hide. I have no webcam, but fleetstreet old farts took some pictures at our spring show this last year, so I cropped one of those. No one ever thinks it's me, though, because it's not all grainy. Ironic, that. :)
